Arguably one of the best Hip-Hop concerts is on its way to Jones Beach.  This Sunday, August 3rd, Rock the Bells is bringing tons of Hip-Hop’s hottest and up and comers.  Don’t believe us?  Let’s name a few… A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Mos Def, Methodman, Redman, Raekwon, The Pharcyde, De La Sol, Kidz in the Hall, Kid Sister etc.  The music festival will include 2 stages and over 20 performances.  I having the feeling this concert is going to be crazy good… maybe its because ticket prices have shot up since I started checking prices 2 months ago, but it will be well worth it.  Not just saying all this.  Complex Magazine reported on last year’s Rock the Bells, saying (and I quote) "Rock the Bells was hot as hell."
Anyways, if you can’t go to the concert you can hit up the official after party on Sunday night after the concert.  The party is in the cut at Cielo on W. 12th between Washington and 9th.

Last night, celebrities attended the Wrigley’s Doublemint Event in NYC. This is where Chris Brown revealed that his hit song Forever is actually the revamped jingle.

Apparently, even though everyone thought they had beef after Neyo’s A Milli remix, they seem to be cool.

I *knew* there was something up with that Chris Brown song "Forever"… It just doesn’t fit, its like straight pop, not even a drop of R&B in there at all. Apparently, the song was sponsored by Doublemint as an update to their traditional jingle. No wonder. ‘Cause we only got one night/Double your pleasure/Double your fun’…. Sound familiar?

Jay-Z and Steve Stout’s agency Translation Advertising was hired by the gum company back in February to remix the jingle and further, "By the time the new jingle came out, it was already seeded properly within popular culture," Stoute tells the Wall St. Journal. See? Hoodwinked. Genius?

So I kept hearing this song come on MTV, I think sometimes at the end of ABDC, and I could have sworn it was Ashley Simpson. Anyway, I’m watching the video today and the guy Colby O’ Donis starts singing and I go, "Wow he’s like a Puerto Rican Akon…" Akon just happened to be sitting right next to him at this point. My bad. SO clearly Akon wrote the song, and from then on I’m like I’m kinda feeling this, in a disco pop soulful white chick kinda way no homo. So I find out her name is "Lady Gaga" (as I clear my failed "ashley simpson just dance" Limewire search) and she recently signed to Interscope Records and has already written hits for the Pussycat Dolls.
