No they didn’t. Freaknik (The Musical) is an animated special produced by T-Pain set to air on Adult Swim March 7th paying homage to the 90’s Atlanta spring break party. Having lived in ATL for a short time when I was younger, this mythical party was all I heard about as my older sister galavanted off to the land of daisy dukes and freaking in the streets. It was so *tragically* banned and the foolishness and revelry was forced down to Memorial Day in Miami among other shameful places. The 1 hour special is set to include voiceovers from Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Keri Hilson, Adam Sandler and more. Can’t wait.

If you hadn’t heard, John Mayer made some pretty crazy comments in a Playboy interview earlier this week which is currently destroying his career. Now he’s talking about his “hood pass” and BTW Rule #1 of the hood pass is never talk about the hood pass or else it is promptly revoked. And also, how about when you apologize about something, you can’t make it all about you and your “quest to be clever… and slither out from persecution…”. Get it together.

Maybe because I grew up listening to dancehall, I have this crazy appreciation for Rihanna when she injects some reggae swag into pop music (like that wine on the tank in the “Hard” video). So who could make a more poptastic video to a song called “Rude Boy” than RiRi herself. Although I wish there was more choreographed dancing and maybe some faster movements… I mean if you’re gonna rip off the “Boyz” video (M.I.A.) then you gotta take the good parts too LOL. Well done nonetheless.

I’ve always liked Rachel Roy’ style but her line was way pricey. I’m glad to see her still working and moving forward though since I heard she ran into some trouble a while back. These two stylish ladies have come together to create a costume jewelry line for the Rachel Rachel Roy brand launching in March. The full collection will range $34 to $195 and will be available in March at select Macy’s, and on macys.com, and rachelroy.com. ps. I’ll never forget the time the GFD ladies caught Rachel Roy and Dame Dash on a plane to Miami. Rachel was sitting with their daughter and Dame was all tight cuz he had to sit with a random person like 3 rows behind them. He kept grumbling under his breath about always being the odd one out. Then he looked at us like, “Y’all feel me right?”. LOL.

Blige, Shakira, and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay, and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna in London.
