So you’re in between eyebrow waxing/threading appointments and you need a quick touch up. Why pull out that boring old silver metal pair of tweezers when you can have one of these much cuter ones. Here are a couple pairs that I found that I thought were pretty awesome.
PS. They’ll be good to give as small Christmas presents or stocking stuffers…
If you're anything like me then you're pretty fond of the special time that your chi iron and your hair spend together. But like most love making, you need to protect yoself fool so let me introduce you the Magnum of heat protective sprays and it's made by Tresemme.
TRESemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray is the best spray I've ever had the pleasure of using. Not only does it smell great but it doesn't weigh your hair down at all and not to mention it gives you a wonderful shine.
You can find this spray at most drugstores and it runs for about $5.
After careful thought and planning (which is why I waited until the last minute to post this -wink-) I have come up with my list of what I would do for Fashion's Night Out if I could be everywhere at once. In case you're a hermit, Fashion's Night Out is this huge ploy cooked up by the devil in Prada herself, Anna Wintour, to revive the recession flogged fashion industry. Almost every retailer in NYC and in other fashion capitals of the world will be having special events and products and staying open until at least 11pm today (September 10th). Many of them are selling the official Fashion's Night Out limited edition t-shirt with proceeds going to The National September 11 Memorial and Museum and many stores are also holding clothing drives.
So I've seen other lists for where to go, but most are missing key events. This list is based on how much you might get to interact with celebs, freebies, food and drinks, and the most fun to be had:
Adidas Sports Performance – Broadway and Houston – At 7pm get a free yoga session with an NYC famed yoga instructor + a free yoga mat and water bottle. Reserve w/ Lindsay.Ash@Adidas.com
Giuseppe Zanotti – 68th and Madison – Giuseppe himself will be cranking out house on the wheels of steel. What other fly-ass shoe designer does that?
Sephora Union Square – 17th and Union Square West – Personalized skin care and fragrance consultation done by the founder of Fresh cosmetics founder + cocktails inspired by Fresh's natural ingridients
Sephora Times Square – 42nd and 7th Ave. – Body painting by Make Up Forever!
Tory Burch – Elizabeth and Houston – Block Party! Delicious La Esquina food, Deejay Cassidy, Champagne and limited edition products
Tracy Reese – Hudson and Gansevort – Free head to toe makeover and style consultation + cocktails
Vera Wang – Mercer and Houston – Vera is really getting into it. She will personally be offering style tips and posing for pictures with everyone in a photo booth + Vera Vodka and live DJs
Barney's – 60th and Madison – Designers will be all over the place hosting fun lessons and events. The list of designers that will be on hand is like a who's who of labels in Michelle Obama's closet. Events include salsa lessons, trunk shows and a fashion greenmarket
Bergdorf Goodman – 58th and 5th – TOP PICK. Designer cook-off hosted by Padma Lakshmi from Top Chef, Andre Leon Talley of Vogue hosts a fashion game show, beauty photography exhibit, the Olsen Twins as bartenders (you know those drinks are going to be strong, right?)
A Bathing Ape – Greene and Spring – Kid Cudi hosts a listening party!
Rugby – 12th and University Place – everything in the store will be available for customization including the Fashion's Night Out T-shirt, live DJ, opening new section of the shop that will specialize in polo and rugby customization, revealing new iPhone app + chance to win an iPhone
Ralph Lauren Soho – Spring and Broome – Last days of summer Americana theme with food and micro-brews from the coast of Maine
Juicy Couture – 52nd and 5th – waiters in tuxes on skateboards bring you food and drinks as you hang out in Juicy's England on acid style salon
Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream – Broadway and Prince – None other than Pharrell will be ringing up your purchases! Check your receipt, I doubt he has worked retail in a very very long time
Bloomingdales – 59th and 3rd – Howie Day will be performing while you meet your favorite accessories designers and eat delicious 40 Carrots frozen yogurt. Tons of free stuff, too.
Coach – 57th and Madison – Famous graffiti artists will be decorating the Coach limited edition Fashion Night Out tote + cocktails
Alice + Olivia – 40th and 5th – Get professionally styled then photographed for a chance to be an Alice + Olivia model for Fashion Week. All photos will be posted to the label's website
Saks Fifth Ave – 49th and 5th – Tons of cosmetic giveaways, tons of famous designers and beauty gurus, and a red carpet (everyone's pictures come out better on a red carpet in front of a step-and-repeat)
Stella McCartney – 14th and 9th – Since Stella McCartney is the queen of green in the fashion world there will be a vegetarian food truck, tips on green fashion, and earth-friendly cocktails
Roberto Cavalli – 63rd and Madison – 10 cocktails inspired by 10 gowns on display from the designer's 10 years in NYC. Cavalli is the host
Henri Bendel – 55th and 5th – Customers can be photographed in their favorite accessories with the chance to win one and can view The New and the Next Gallery of new accessories of up and coming designers and designers who were discovered by Henri Bendel
H&M – Spring and Broadway – Miss J. Alexander from America's Next Top Model will be teaching you how to work the runway on the H&M red carpet. Get snapped by the "paparazzi" with the potential to end up an H&M billboard.
During the decadence of Fashion Week its easy to forget that there is anything, but excess. Unless eco-friendly designer, Stella McCartney is showing, fashion fans seem to forget that there is a such thing as organic, fair trade, and green. What can we say? All the shiny fabric, over-the-top styles, beautiful people, and bright lights can blind you to the outside world.
However, for the first time during NY Fashion Week there will be a departure from excess, without a single sacrifice of beauty in the form ofThe GreenShows Eco-Fashion Week. For 2 days there will be events and shows from designers who are committed to fair trade and earth friendly fashion. The events will be held at gallery and show space King of Greene Street in Soho on September 15th and 16th. The event will be green top to bottom, including makeup and hair products (John Masters Organics) and the production of the show. The founders of the show say that its goal is not just to allow the eco-friendly designers to have platform to show, but to also draw attention to the need for the fashion industry to be more aware of the being more environmentally friendly and limiting excess. Refreshing.
From designer Lara Miller, one of the designers who will be showing at The GreenShows. All of fabric is made out of eco-friendly bamboo.
The FDA has recalled Hydroxycut due to findings that it causes liver damage and perhaps death.
Am I the only one who looked at all those commercials like- "Damn, they all about to get cancer from that crap…"? I guess I was…Lose weight responsibly, not the 'easy way'- i.e. putting your body in serious danger.
Sephora has teamed up with OPI to present a wildly exciting (or at least to me…) line of nail colors. I bought three this friday. Everytime I look at my nails its like a party… $9 each, only at Sephora.

If you're anything like me then you too need to always have something on your lips. My product of choice is lip gloss. I have lip glosses everywhere…purses, car, desk, everywhere. But recently I ran into a situation where somehow amongst the constant purse switching, i ended up estranged from my lip gloss.
Mortifying. Shit was definitely not popping.
Well I did some research and found these lip gloss keychains to ensure that such a travesty should not occur again.
I came across the link to this online jewelery store Cubannie Links and I absolutely was not prepared for the jewelry that I found within…

Check out the website for yourself if you don’t believe me. I can’t make this shit up.
Warning this is gross… A Virginia salon has been offering a new pedicure concept. Imagine hungry, flesh-eating, toothless fish gnawing on your feet. Because they are toothless they can’t actually bite into live skin, but they can gnaw off dead skin. In other words these little fish eat and soften rough feet and calluses. The method comes from Singapore and it costs $35 for 15 mins. Afterwards customers get a regular pedicure. One woman who has had one says that its the first time her feet have ever been soft. Ummm, that’s because she paid to have fish eat them.
I know it’s hard out there for hip hop moguls- and they need to take time out to relax. Maybe visit a spa, get a pedicure—but a bikini wax? No homo- that’s wild and crazy kids all day. I mean do you even know a guy who does that? According to US Weekly Diddy and Jay Z do, a Brazilian- at that. Aside- Is that what Nelly meant by get your eagle on? Not fresh. Read on if you dare…
New York is not winning… but its not losing when it comes to being a healthy city. According to USA Today, The American College of Sports Medicine ranks New York as the 9th Fittest CIty in the US. We should do our part to protect that ranking and get fit ourselves by going to the United Healthcare Sports and Fitness Expo. Its happening on today from 12-8pm and 10am-6pm on Saturday. Plenty of time to learn how to get it right and get it tight if you don’t already know how or to find ways to support that running addiction you might already have — and its all free (and air conditioned).
