LA Clippers guard, Randy Foye, is hosting a 5k race through his Randy Foye Foundation to benefit the Children’s Hospital’s at Beth Israel in Newark, NJ where is originally from.

The race will take place this Sunday 6/5/11 at Branch Brook Park in Newark. There will be prizes, food, entertainment and giveaways! You can participate with a minimum donation of $25 that you can make HERE.

With a possible lockout looming, the NBA announced today that it has canceled this year’s Las Vegas summer league and will also not run it’s annual college internship program.

Damn, shit just got real. The NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on June 30th and all signs point to a long protracted lockout which could cost them part of the season if not all of it.

All I know is that David Stern and them better figure something out because I really won’t know what to do with myself if there’s no NBA season.

On the brink of the NBA trade deadline, Melo finally chose a new home with the NY Knicks. The Knicks just about sold their souls to get him but in the end were quite happy with the transaction In addition to Melo, they also got Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

The most important thing to take away from this trade is that Denver fans > Cleveland fans when it comes to losing their superstar player. I’m happy to report that there are zero documented instances of Carmelo Anthony jerseys being burned in effigy.

Oh yeah, bandwagon hopping is at an all time high.

Ciara was a guest on E! Fashion Police on Friday night and after critiquing Rihanna’s look at the Brit Awards, CiCi went on to mention that her last encounter with Rihanna was less than pleasant. Moments later, Rihanna made a tweet and the beef incurred from there…

Haaaa. That Rihanna is a funny chick. Sadly, PR reps clearly got involved because soon after, we saw these tweets…

Chris Brown twit pic’d a photo of him with his new Amber Rose/Sisqo haircut and he looks a damn fool.

The only explanation for this I can come up with is trying to generate a buzz for his F.A.M.E. album which drops later this month. **blank stare** Cmon homie, do better.

NY fans were talking hella shit all last night on Twitter and why not? Their team looked like they were all set to take home the W being up 28-3 at halftime and all. Butttt that all changed when the Eagles scored 28 points in the last 7:28 of the game. It was even tied with 12 seconds to go but the Giants pretty much collapsed and DeSean Jackson and his team stepped up and took the victory.

If you missed the Nuggets and Spurs game last night then you missed an incredible dunk. Gary Neal THOUGHT he was gonna pick up the charge but instead just got embarassed by J.R. Smith.

While Cleveland fans are STILL bitter about Lebron taking his talents to South Beach, he’s going to be living in the lap of luxury in his new mansion. The house is as dope as they come. It sits right on the Biscayne Bay and EVERY room in the house has a view of the water. If there was such a thing as Real Estate porn, this house would be the Heather Hunter of the industry..

Now, being a Lakers fan from birth (I knew who Magic and Kareem were and could have recognized them on the street by the age of three) I’m completely entitled to agree with the rest of the world that Lakers fans are crazy.  However, since we have the best team in the US and, therefore, the world, its okay.  But this particular Kobe fan is not okay.  It is never okay to be this crazy.  I just love the reporter’s face.

The other night while Drake was performing in Cleveland, he brought Lebron James out to play the glorified role of “hypeman.”

Right before he brought him out he said, “See me and Lebron, we have something mutually in common. We both love women… a lot. We are both mature individuals but I feel like if we were the type to trick on a girl, this would be the song we’d sing to her”.

Bron then came out while Drake sang Fab’s Throw it in the Bag and Bron hopped around stage throwing in his occassional two cents.

Then Drake brought up a female fan to slow dance with and kiss during Unthinkable but stopped midway to tell Lebron “Hey I can’t do this with you up here man.” And Lebron exited stage left.

The funniest of it all was that Lebron’s momma, Gloria was on the side of the stage singing every word the entire concert. Aww lawd Ms. James.

Lebron comes in around the 4:27 mark…

So I’m watching the Laker-Suns game and at halftime, Craig Sager is interviewing Ron Artest and Artest says something like..”We gotta do like how we do back in Queens in the projects. Know what I mean Craig?”

I started rolling because Craig is the last person on this earth that would know anything about the projects. Don’t know who Craig Sager is? Visit exhibit A:

Anyways, Ron has got to be one of the most hilarious individuals in the NBA and it made me remember his postgame interview after playing the Lakers last year in the playoffs. By far my favorite postgame interview from anyone…ever.

I beg you to please watch these if you haven’t already. All I’m gonna say is that it involves a story about one of his boys who ends up getting a table leg driven through his heart…

Of course, we’re talking as you’re getting a manicure and a facial before you have your makeup put on. Is this a side of your personality you’d like more people to see?
I think people, especially here in Los Angeles, are starting to understand me a lot more in terms of what I’m like personality-wise. I’m relaxed, laid back, pretty funny, smartass. I like having a good time.

But wouldn’t it benefit you if the media in L.A. saw this side of your personality more?
It probably wouldn’t be helpful for them, because they have to write and sell stories. And you can’t have everybody saying positive things all the time. It’s just not going to work, even though this is, like, my city when it comes to sports, you know what I mean? You gotta have people on one side of the fence and people on the other. If not, the story’s not compelling. The people who truly know me know what I’m like. There have been people who try to say things that aren’t fair, and I check them. And then they don’t like me because I checked them.

Call them out. I’m not going to be a pushover. If I’m going to talk to you, I’m going to talk to you respectfully. I’m comfortable in my own skin. If I’m upset, I’m upset—write about it. If I’m happy, I’m happy—write about it. I’m gonna just be me, and let them report what they’re gonna report.

Do you think about your basketball mortality at all—that one day you won’t be able to do everything you can now?
I feel invincible out there, but it’s a different kind of invincible than when I was younger. Can I jump over two or three guys like I used to? No. Am I as fast as I used to be? No, but I still have the fundamentals and smarts. That’s what enables me to still be a dominant player. As a kid growing up, I never skipped steps. I always worked on fundamentals because I know athleticism is fleeting.

As ashamed as I am to say it, I regularly tune into Basketball Wives. Do I believe that most of the women on the show are bitter ass thirst buckets? Absolutely, but I just can’t NOT watch. As was Flava of Love, it has turned into one of my guilty pleasures.

With that said, I think the show is extremely negative and one-sided and so does Orlando Magic baller Matt Barnes who’s fiancee, Gloria is a participant on the show. Gloria and Matt appear to be the only beacon of light out of all the couples associated with the show. Matt says that in the beginning although he was skeptical, he was on board for the show but after watching one episode, that all changed:

I wasn’t 100% against it at the beginning. It started back in Phoenix when Shaunie O’Neal approached my fiancee about it and I was really apprehensive about it. Then they kept approaching fiancee Gloria about it back and forth back and forth and I was really against it but my fiancee talked to the producers and felt good about it so I definitely backed her.

But after watching the first show I was just disgusted. I told my team because you know [my teammate] Dwight’s involved in that too that I’m not watching that because I know it’s going to make me mad and I’m going to watch it at the end of the season. I just think that what they say is going to happen and what actually happens is two different things.

Reality TV is kind of a joke. Everything is scripted. There is nothing reality about Reality TV. With that said, I’ll kind of leave it at that but if you want to have me back on at the end of the season when I won’t get fined for what I say, I’ll definitely tell you what I think about that.

Hmmm. Gloria had noooo business being part of this damn show.

At the Lakers-Magic game on Sunday, that fool Ron Artest came out sporting a blonde hair cut and the word “Defense” in Hebrew, Japanese and Hindi (yes, all 3 languages) shaved into his head. Why? Who the fucks knows, that knee grow is wierd.

Either Ron came to his senses or he couldn’t handle the attention from his cut because the ‘do was very short-lived. Monday morning at the Lakers practice, he showed up with a baldie.
